Fall Sports - First practices

Ethan started his first season of flag football this last month. He has wanted to play football FOREVER, and since we didn't have the time or $$ for Pop Warner, we decided to put him in a city flag league, just to see how he liked it. He was sold the first practice.

So, of course, I took my camera and was playing around a bit. I forgot my bigger lens at home, so I wasn't able to get very close shots of him. (see arrow) You can click on any of the pictures to enlarge them.

BTW- notice the palm trees and blue sky. This is why we live in AZ. The weather is awesome here while it is getting cold everywhere else. The four previous months are why we wish we didn't live in AZ.

In the middle of his practice, the sprinklers came on. The boys didn't care. They loved it, and played right through it.

However, I had this little girl named Jayne with me who wanted to play in the sprinklers too. Here is a good depiction of her asking, whining when I said no, and then giving in.
She then ran off to play at the park with Gabe (or so I thought). I happen to glance over to my right a few minutes later and see her in the sprinklers. And then she ran over and gave me her face.
Oh well. This is why we have leather seats. And why we live in AZ. Right?

Then on to Abram's first practice. He decided he wanted to play basketball this fall. Mostly because that is what Gabe wanted to do, and everything Gabe does is cool. Here he is with his teammates. My boys are always the smallest. Surprise, surprise. So far they haven't let that stop them.

The guy in the scrubs is their coach. He is an OB/GYN. Its fun to hear him answer calls during practice. "How far apart are they?" "If you were bleeding that bad, they wouldn't have let you go home." He hasn't had to leave early yet to deliver a baby, but I'm just waiting for that to happen.

Look at my little dribbler. He took his glasses off so they wouldn't get broken (a REAL surprise). We have since gotten him a pair of "rec specs." Pics of that someday soon.

No pictures of Jayne being sneaky at this practice. I was heading over to the playground to take some, but then noticed this dust storm coming our way. Noticing the tiny patch of blue in the right corner. Yeah, the rest of that is dirt. Coming at us. Fast. Practice was canceled on the spot, and I hurried and got my camera put away. Then I worried about my children.

Gabe's first practice was at the same time as Abram's, and Loren took him. So...no pictures. It too was canceled because of the dust storm.

Stay tuned...first games coming up.

I'd LOVE to make a tutu for her! Just let me know what color you want-I can do multiple colors-rainbow, light pink and brown, hot pink and green, etc. I get the tulle at joanns, so if you head over there and see the options then you can tell me what you want. Then if you want it long or short-if it's short it probably won't be like those stiff sticky-outy ones-it lays more softly, and then measure her waist! I probably won't be able to get it done until after halloween (2 costumes to make and 2 outfits for family pics). But if I get it done sooner I'll just ship it out! YAY-these are soooo cute :)

So good to hear from you! I see so much Loren in your little ones, it makes me smile. So cute! I gave Jinger your blog address, she was anxious to check in on you. I love to peek in now and again and see what is going on with my little friend "fyatty."

Cute pics of your kids! This is why I have come to completely dread Saturday's though! Everything about me screams, "YOU ARE NOT A SOCCER MOM!" and yet, I have no choice!
