Let the packing begin...

Yeah, we sold our house! Well, it is in escrow anyway with the closing date to be on the 31st of this month. Only one person came by to look at it, and she apparently liked it enough to buy it. It was only on the market for 27 days before we got her offer. So many houses are on the market here and have been for a long time. It is just so amazing how things have just fallen into place when we first started thinking of buying a new house. We have been truly blessed. I am holding back on the excitement, however, until those closing papers are signed. I know things can happen between now and then.

So now the real packing begins. Luckily we have a lot of stuff already packed and in storage so it shouldn't be too painful. The decluttering has already been done. Luckily the person buying our house is willing to rent back our house until our new house is done so we don't have to move twice...another blessing. The new one should be done sometime in February but we don't have an exact date yet.

My kids go back to school on Monday, another blessing for all of us. They are getting bored and tired of having to keep the house clean. I am running out of things for them to do and out of ideas to motivate them. Plus they are getting sick of each other all day every day.

I am going to post some pictures of the new house soon. They have a "portable potty" sitting out front for the workers, and I have been waiting for them to move it before I take a picture of the outside. Maybe I won't wait and you can get a view of that also. In fact, maybe going over there today will be our "outing for the day" with the kids. You know...we get stir crazy and ornery after awhile so have to get out.

I read a blog post awhile back of someone I don't even know, and she was talking about giving her house a name to make life more fun. So, I have come up with a name for our new house. The name of our floorplan is the "Santan" so our new house is named Santan. So, instead of saying, "Let's go look at our new house," I say, "Let's go look at Santan," or "Let's go to the Santan." My kids think I am a little weird, but all parents are weird to their kids, right?

Pictures of Santan coming soon.

Congratulations. I'm so glad you don't have to worry about keeping the house spotless 24/7.
Now you can start dreaming of how your going to fill all the space in a house that is twice as big!!!
I'm also excited that you are going to be in our ward too!
